Brand new?
Already dancing?
Come join us.

Your first class starts with a welcome.

You do not need a partner, dance experience, or special dance shoes. Come solo or bring a friend. We teach the rhythm, technique, connection, and confidence that help you enjoy an actual social dance.

Experienced dancers: discover your next step.

Join the full evening and stay for Sensual Technique at 7:30 PM. If you want to bypass Levels 1 & 2 for future Academy classes, sign up at the Open House for a separate skills evaluation appointment. Test-outs will not happen that evening.

Dancer Fundamentals is assessed separately. Even dancers who test out of Levels 1 & 2 may need to complete it based on movement quality, balance, control, body mechanics, and foundational technique. Most dancers will benefit from it.

Get ready. Get excited.

Pick a question below. No chat or waiting needed.

What if I am already a student? Should I attend the Open House?

Absolutely yes! We encourage all current students to attend and enjoy all three classes. The October 18th Open House classes are FREE for you too, and none of your class credits will be used or deducted. Come celebrate the Academy launch, revisit your foundations, meet new dancers, and experience the full evening with us!

Can I come if I have never danced before?

Absolutely! Salsa Foundations at 5 PM and Bachata Foundations at 6 PM are welcoming starting points. No experience is required. We recommend the full Open House so you can see the whole Academy experience.

Do I need a partner? Can I bring a friend?

No partner required. Come on your own or with a friend. Partner rotation is optional. Each person should register separately so we know who is joining us.

Is the Open House free? Do I need class credits?

The October 18 Open House is free. Register here to save your spot. You do not need to buy credits, and no credits are deducted for Open House attendance. Paid class credits are separate and apply to future Sunday Academy classes.

Should I attend the full evening or just one class?

You can join the part of the evening that fits your schedule. For most dancers, we recommend the full 5:00–8:30 PM experience: Salsa, Bachata, social practice, and a look at higher-level training. Experienced dancers are especially encouraged to stay for the 7:30 PM Sensual Technique class.

What should I wear? Do I need dance shoes?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move freely in, with appropriate coverage for a group class. Choose shoes that stay securely on your feet. Smooth soles generally help you turn on ballroom floors; avoid flip-flops, slides, and loose shoes. Dance heels and specialty dance shoes are optional.

Where is it? Is parking free?

NRG Ballroom, 931 E Elliot Rd, Suite 101, Tempe, AZ 85284. The venue has a large, free parking lot directly attached. The Open House runs Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:30 PM, Arizona time.

Can I try Level 3? Will test-outs happen that night?

The Open House includes Sensual Technique with Level 3 material at 7:30 PM. Experienced dancers are encouraged to attend. This introductory evening is separate from the requirements for future Level 3 classes. Sign up at the Open House for a separate skills evaluation if you believe you are ready to bypass Levels 1 & 2. No test-outs happen that evening. Dancer Fundamentals is assessed separately and may still be recommended or required.

What is the minimum age?

The Open House and Academy classes are for adults ages 18 and older.

What happens after the Open House?

The Academy offers structured classes with a clear pathway, feedback, and achievements earned by demonstrating skills at your own pace. Structured timelines and checkouts are available. However, you can work at your own pace with no required number of weeks to finish a level. Explore the full Academy for its learning pathways, certifications, regular classes, and detailed FAQs.
